5. If you do not have LibUSB installed on your computer, you must do so now. Just click the “Install LIBUSB” button.

6. You must also have the original iPod Touch 2.2.1 Firmware, if you do not have this, just click the download button, and wait until it has been downloaded to continue.

7. Once You have all of these prerequisites installed, click “Next”.

8. In this screen, you will create the Jailbroken, or cracked firmware.  You may select a few different options at the top.

a. The first is installer, this will install Cydia and Installer onto your iPod where you can download different packages and software for Jailbroken devices.  Leave this checked.

b. Leave “Already Jailbroken” un-checked. (Unless of course your iPod is already jailbroken).

c. Next, you may select whether or not you want to replace the boot logos on your iPod.  You may press the “Change…” button to select a new one.  Once in this screen you can select from a few stock images, or use a custom one.

9. Now press the “Create Firmware” button.

10. Now be patient, it is creating the jailbroken firmware that you will later load onto your iPod.  This creation process can take a while sometimes.

11. Once you get the message below, press “Next”

12. Now you must prepare your iPod for the Jailbreaking process.  To do this, you must first put it in to DFU mode. Click the “DFU Instructions” Button.

Now Follow these instructions to put your iPod into DFU mode.  Here’s a little secret though, notice in the first step where it says “You have x seconds to unplug and turn off your iPod” You don’t have to unplug it, its a pain in the ass to hold down a bunch of buttons while plugging it in.  Believe me. It will work fine if you dont unplug it.

13. If you follow the instructions correctly, QuickFreedom will automatically put your iPod into the “Pre-Jailbreaking” state. Your iPod will turn white, as shown below, and a success message will appear.  Once this is complete, press “Next” but DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR IPOD!
